THE
BACKLOT THEATER,
open two years, is
an exciting cooperative arts and education facility
providing accessibility to the arts, sports and
education for underserved audiences and children of all
ages. We strive to provide an environment in which
participants are allowed to create and experiment with
ways to engage the fringe and the mainstream, the
marginal and the conventional. An atmosphere in which
individuals can actively create or merely experience.
Where artists can exercise their brains. Where
strangers can become friends, building healthy personal
relationships with people of all ages, cultural,
ethnic, and socioeconomic situations.
BACKLOT
ARTS has moved into the
East Village Cabaret
a, very swank, temporary
home, while we continue to look for space that is
better suited to the mission than our old location in
the industrial park! We are still open for opportunity.
